This year within The 3 Churches Benefice we will be having two outdoor Remembrance Sunday Services. Please do come along and join us on Sunday 13th November as we remember all those armed forces members who have died in the line of duty.

Services will be approximately 45mins and will replace normal Sunday Services this week. Please make sure you wrap up warmly for these outdoor services.
The 3 Churches Benefice is offering two Warm Welcome Spaces to anyone who is in need of a warm place to shelter over the coming cold months.

The mission of Warm Welcome Spaces is to support organisations to open their doors and provide a warm welcome for those struggling to heat their homes this winter. If you’d like to know more, please visit https://www.warmwelcome.uk/.

The fundraising Quiz Night for St John’s Church Tower Repair Fund will take place on Friday 14th October in the Great Amwell Parish Hall, 7pm for a 7.30pm prompt start. Tickets cost £15 and include a supper, which will be either fish/chicken and chips or a vegetarian option. Bring own drinks and glasses.

In support of Baby Loss Awareness Week (9th–15th October), The 3 Churches Benefice are having a special Service of Remembering for all those who have lost a baby or child.
Join this informal, reflective service starting 2pm on Sunday 9th October at St Andrew’s Church, Stanstead Abbots or attach a ribbon of remembrance to Our Memory Tree outside the Church.

In place of the scheduled 8.45am BCP Communion, a special service will be held in the evening. The details are as follows:
Traditional Evensong to honour the life and service of our late Queen Elizabeth II
Sunday 18th September
6pm at St James’s Church, Roydon Road
A scratch choir (a group who rehearse and perform, all in one day) will perform. If you would like to join, rehearsals start at 5pm prompt. For a music list, please email admin@3churches.net.

St Andrew’s Church will be OPEN as a place of quiet reflection from 10am to 4pm on Friday 16th, Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th September. A book of condolences is available to sign.

A Service of Prayer and Reflection remembering her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will be held at St Andrew’s Church, Cappell Lane, Stanstead Abbotts at 9.30am this morning (Friday 9th Sept.). This service of remembrance and reflection will also be streamed from the church using Zoom, click JOIN ONLINE to view (select Launch Meeting and it will connect).

Since June, a new rota of services has been in place for The 3 Churches Benefice of Great Amwell with St Margarets and Stanstead Abbots. Details are as follows:

Monday Coffee Morning
A weekly coffee morning for those who have arrived from Ukraine and their hosts. Meeting every Monday at 10.15am for 1hr 30m at The Wilshere Hall, St Andrew’s Church (on Cappell Lane).

UPCOMING EVENT
Outdoor Service – 31st July
On 31st July, The 3 Churches Benefice will be holding an outdoor service at The Glebe Field (behind the Parish Hall), Great Amwell. Starting from 10.30am, the service will be followed by a summer picnic. Please do come along and join us – all are welcome!
